Psychiatric nursing or mental health nursing is the appointed role of a nursing that has specialized in mental health and cares for humans of every age with mental illness or mental distress, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, depression, dementia and much more. Nurses in this stream receive specific training in psychological remedies, building a therapeutic alliance, dealing with challenging behaviour, and the administration of psychiatric medication. In maximum nations, a psychiatric nurse will need to have attained a bachelor's diploma in nursing to end up a registered nurse (RN) and specialize in mental health. Degrees vary in different countries and are governed by country-specific regulations. Psychiatric nurses work in hospitals, intellectual institutes, correctional institutes, and many different facilities.
